Adept Medical’s Lower Leg Support Product Launched
January 14, 2022—Adept Medical, which is based in Auckland, New Zealand, announced the launch of the company’s Lower Leg Support, designed to gently immobilize a patient’s leg during fluoroscopy-guided treatment of critical limb ischemia.
According to the company, the Lower Leg Support facilitates imaging by holding the foot comfortably in a slightly plantar flexed position and is endorotation and exorotation capable, providing multiple positioning options. The device's ergonomic design positions the leg to suit the procedural requirements desired during lower limb interventions.
The device features include the following:
- A reversible footplate allows the product to be used on both the left and right foot. The footplate can be removed entirely to enable distal artery access, ultrasound imaging, and manipulation of the foot, should it be required during the procedure.
- A soft foam leg pad provides pressure management for patients who often have painful ulcerations.
- Soft foam straps gently immobilize patients under conscious sedation.
The Lower Leg Support is compatible with most common table models and is suitable for use with C-arm imaging systems. It can be secured to the top of a table mattress with two table straps with buckles for tensioning and quick release. The straps wrap around the cantilevered table and mattress, ensuring device security.
