ESMINT-EYMINT Survey Seeks to Gain an Overview of Mechanical Thrombectomy Practices in Europe

March 8, 2021—The research collaborative group of the European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT) and its organization of young interventionists, EYMINT, are conducting an online survey to provide an overall appraisal of technical mechanical thrombectomy practices in Europe, as well as an appraisal of local organizations.

Every interventional neuroradiologist is invited to participate. The survey will collect individual responses about patient selection and endovascular procedures. Data will be treated anonymously for the research project.

ESMINT noted that mechanical thrombectomy has dramatically changed the landscape of stroke care as well as stroke care organizations. Public health institutions are faced with the challenge of swiftly providing equal access to this high technical level procedure with rapidly broadening indications.

The ESMINT-EYMINT announcement is available online here with a link to the SurveyMonkey platform. As a second step, another survey will be sent to collect general center-based information regarding mechanical thrombectomy, advised ESMINT.
