Merit Medical's QuadraSphere Microspheres Receive Expanded Clearance for Hepatoma

August 4, 2015—Merit Medical Systems, Inc. announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to expand the indication for QuadraSphere microspheres to include the embolization of hepatoma. QuadraSphere microspheres are calibrated and designed to offer controlled, targeted embolization to treat hepatocellular carcinoma by stopping the blood flow to the tumors, stated the company.
