Penumbra Forms MVI Health, a Joint Venture With Sixense Enterprises

January 4, 2018—Penumbra, Inc. announced that it has entered into a joint venture with Sixense Enterprises, Inc. for the purpose of exploring health care applications of virtual reality technology. Penumbra is headquartered in Alameda, California, and Sixense is headquartered in Los Gatos, California.

The venture, called MVI Health Inc., will combine Sixense's immersive, full-presence virtual reality computing platform with Penumbra’s development and commercialization of medical products across broad areas of health care and wellness. Penumbra's current portfolio includes interventional therapies for the treatment of neurovascular and peripheral artery disease. MVI Health will be headquartered in Alameda and will be supported by investments from Penumbra and license, intellectual property, and other resource contributions from Sixense Enterprises.
