The PERT Consortium Names Mark McIlduff as Executive Director

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The PERT Consortium has appointed Mark McIlduff as Executive Director to oversee organizational strategy and operations.
  • McIlduff will lead the national and international expansion of PRISM, an initiative focused on pulmonary embolism care, research, and education.
  • The appointment comes after the July 2026 announcement that CEO Michelle Lanno would step down at the end of the year.

November 3, 2026—The PERT Consortium announced the appointment of Mark McIldiff as Executive Director.

As Executive Director, McIldiff will develop and carry out a multiyear strategic plan to expand PERT’s clinical, research, and educational impact. He will lead the national and global growth of PRISM and oversee the consortium’s day-to-day operations, stated PERT. PRISM, which is an initiative to expand access, collaboration, and excellence across the spectrum of pulmonary embolism (PE) care, science, and outreach, was launched in October 2025.

According to The PERT Consortium, McIldiff brings more than 15 years of experience across clinical, commercial, and business operations in MedTech and clinical research.

Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions at Avania, where he helped the company grow from a group of regional, niche service providers into a global, MedTech-specialized Clinical Research Organization. He built and led operational teams across the United States, Europe, and Australia; shaped therapeutic area strategy; helped lead the company’s growth through strategic transactions; and served as executive sponsor through multiple clean regulatory inspections, stated The Pert Consortium.

Additionally, McIldiff holds advanced degrees in business and biostatistics, along with specialized training in data science.

“I’m joining PERT because the mission is meaningful,” commented McIldiff in the PERT announcement. “Bringing PE patients better, faster, coordinated care is work I’m proud to help lead. Michelle has built a robust, multidisciplinary clinical community with a lasting impact on the field. I’m grateful to be surrounded by this much expertise, and I look forward to earning the trust of our members as we write the next chapter together.”

In July 2026, Michelle Lanno announced she was stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of The PERT Consortium.
