Viz.ai’s Viz Recruit Platform Offered to Outpatient Ambulatory Centers for Trial Recruitment
September 26, 2023—Artificial intelligence (AI) platform developer Viz.ai announced its expansion into outpatient ambulatory centers to accelerate clinical trial recruitment.
The company stated that the expansion allows both ambulatory and hospital-based research sites to access the company’s AI-powered platform—Viz Recruit—to aid with patient identification and recruitment for clinical research. Amavita Heart and Vascular Health, which has facilities at four locations in Miami-Dade County, Florida, is integrating the technology into its outpatient ambulatory centers to screen and recruit patients in a clinical study on heart failure that is sponsored by a global biopharma company.
Viz.ai says the AI-powered Recruit platform integrates with health care IT systems of record (eg, electronic health/medical records, core labs) to simplify the screening process, identify eligible clinical trial candidates, and connect the research team to accelerate clinical trial enrollment in a secure, compliant mobile application.
Pedro Martinez-Clark, MD, who is founder of Amavita Heart and Vascular Health, commented in the company’s press release, “We pride ourselves on research and the impact that it can have on new discoveries. Having an AI-powered platform that integrates with our EMR system will allow us to save valuable time and resources often involved with manual chart reviews for research studies.”
Jayme Strauss, Chief Clinical Officer at Viz.ai, added, “Heart failure patients who may be eligible for clinical trials are seen across a number of different healthcare settings. By deploying Viz.ai in outpatient clinics, we are not only reducing the manual burden of patient identification on research staff but also reaching underserved and diverse clinical trial populations.”
